At the military academy in Stockholm they have an annual winter ball at the Castle of Karlberg where the young cadettes dance the Dance Francaise. My family has been within the military for over 300 years. When the military academy welcomed me I knew right away how to work with my images. I was going to let the beautiful ball dancers illustrate the ghosts and spirits of my ancestors. I was going to make a ghost story!
The images are printed on glossy paper laminated with a plastic film to get a watery feverish feeling. 40cm*40cm. All prints in an edition of ten. The exhibition is 34 images, with glass and white frame. The book contains 46 images and words by historican Håkan Tengestål and drafts from my granddad Harald Bråkenhielm war journal from the Finish Winter War. The form is made by Mathias Grate. |
